First and third grade students recently explored organic shapes and the outline of a shape through tracing leaves throughout our building.
After cutting out leaves students added leaf shapes to our outdoor chalkboard.
Everyone enjoys using the outdoor drawing space.
Students used crayola window markers to add their leaves to the windows surrounding the art room.
This project required the students to focus on the shape and learn to see the contour of the shape.
It’s a great lesson that allows students to use many types of media and implement the art in a public place that will be shared.
This lesson stretched the students to view the leaves in new ways and create them using new methods.
1st and 3rd grade students loved the lesson that allowed them to move around the building making art!
