In the process of learning to create contour and continuous lines, third grade students worked with yarn recently.
Using yarn like a pencil, students drew around many shapes in the art room.
This session required the students to focus and concentrate as they used their hands and eyes to create a shape.
The line in a continuous line drawing is unbroken from the beginning to the end. The line stays uninterrupted during the entire length of the drawing.
As an exercise, continuous line drawing forces the students to closely observe the perceived lines of the subject.
This art exercise really challenged the third grade students as they built their motor and visual skills through this process.
