Sixth grade art students are in the process of creating their 3D animal masks.
Some students are working from a balloon shell that was created from paper mache and then cut in half.
Other students are working from cardboard and creating their mask from cardboard shapes they are putting together.
This has been a difficult project for students to think through the building process and design in the third dimension.
The process of creating always sounds fun but in reality it is hard work to try something that is new and unfamiliar and to stretch oneself in new directions.
I am excited to see how the students continue to work and resolve their creative problems while building their masks.
